Our Home

Casa Madera

A home built on warmth, craft, and the art of gathering.

The Story

Casa Madera — Spanish for House of Wood — takes its name from the warm oak and walnut that run through every room. What began as a renovation became a years-long labor of love: sourcing reclaimed timbers, commissioning local artisans, and slowly filling the walls with pieces that mean something.

The house sits on a quiet hill in San Antonio's northwest corridor, surrounded by live oaks and the kind of stillness that makes you want to linger over a second cup of coffee. We designed it to be lived in fully — doors open, music on, table always ready for one more.

What We Believe

Hospitality is an art

A well-set table, a cold drink waiting, a room that feels like it was expecting you — these things don't happen by accident. We put thought into every detail so guests feel genuinely welcomed.

Beauty lives in the handmade

The pottery on the shelves, the linen on the beds, the ironwork on the gates — almost everything in this house was made by someone's hands. We believe objects with a story make a home feel alive.

Gather often

The best memories we have are around a table or a fire with people we love. Casa Madera was built to host — birthdays, holidays, quiet dinners, and everything in between.

The Household

Kyla
Curator & Host

Kyla is the eye behind every room — the one who found the 1940s French chandelier at an estate sale and knew exactly where it belonged. She handles the art, the flowers, the table settings, and the general magic.

David
Builder & Keeper

David is the one who makes things work — the wine cellar, the outdoor kitchen, the sound system that somehow plays in every room. He also makes a very good Old Fashioned.

A house is not a home until it has been lived in.
